Colin Milliken – Case Study

Everyone has different motivations for starting.

Colin was very much about achieving weight loss being heavily motivated by improving general health.

Health is about more than the food we eat or exercise. These do play a big role and its good to make the focus on measurable objectives like weight loss with health being the inevitable by-product of that.

THE GAME PLAN

The strategy was very much about initially maximising weight loss in the short term before simply focusing on establishing a manageable routine that encourages balanced, positive lifestyle choices over the long term.

It sounds ideal and easy when you just say it like that but credit to Colin because he put in the work particularly in those early stages to really start losing weight.

The big initial changes kept Colin motivated and focused and while he seemed to hate me just a little bit from time to time in our sessions it was very much worth it in the end!

I think that it’s an important message to say that there’s no one set way to achieve weight loss then make it work in the long run. It doesn’t have to fit into some rigid framework that says you must lose 2lbs per week and anything beyond this is unsustainable.

I agree to an extent.

Losing weight quickly IS unsustainable on a long enough timeline so that’s where making a deliberate and careful transition onto something which is sustainable and is more about lifestyle and balance is key.

WORDS FROM COLIN

“When I started with Scott I was almost 16 stone. I am now 12 and a half stone, gym it every morning before work and feel great for it. Scott has changed my life and there’s no going back for me.”
